Technical Advisory Committees to Work on Watershed Management Plan

As discussed at last week’s Watershed Council meeting, it is time for the Council’s Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) to get actively engaged with development of parts of the watershed management plan. The Council has established six TACs, one for each of the plan’s goals (except that the “Coordinated Watershed Planning” goal does not have a separate TAC). The six TACs are:
  • Sufficient Local Water Supplies
  • Clean Water
  • Integrated Flood Management
  • Healthy Ecosystems
  • Access to Nature
  • Responsible Land & Resource Management
In order to get the plan developed within the remaining time, I will need to focus on writing and editing and the TAC leaders will facilitate TAC meetings and communication to help develop and review draft content, work out issues, etc., related to that TAC’s goal. The full Council meetings will go on hold during the coming months, while the TACs are actively meeting. If you wish to participate on a TAC, please see this TAC Participants List to make sure your name has been included. If you’d like your name to be included, just let me know. It is important to understand that these are working groups that have very limited time to accomplish considerable work; therefore the expectation is that participants who attend meetings are prepared to constructively contribute to the work of the group. Once your name is on a TAC list, you will receive that TAC’s email correspondence.
