June 5 Watershed Council Meeting
Important Decisions to Make on Watershed Management Plan

The next Watershed Council meeting will be on June 5, 2014 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Topping Room of the Foster Library, 651 E. Main Street.

This is an important meeting with regard to developing the “plan” part of our watershed management plan, so it is essential to have the participation at this meeting of Leadership Committee members and others who have indicated a willingness to lead projects on our Projects and Programs List.

We’ll be discussing:
– How can the plan and its project list best serve the Council and its members?
– Is there support for using a campaign structure for describing our “plan”?
– How actionable and/or selective should the project list be?
– What possibilities exist for the Council to implement integrated projects?

Also on the agenda is an update from Greg Schnaar, with Daniel B. Stephens & Associates, on the recently completed update to the Ojai Basin groundwater model, commissioned by the Ojai Basin Groundwater Management Agency.

We’ll also hear from Eweina Mutkowska and David Kirby, with the County of Ventura, about an upcoming stormwater treatment retrofit project in Meiners Oaks. And we’ll get an update from Lynn Rodriguez, of the Watersheds Coalition of Ventura County (WCVC), about the Emergency Drought Grant proposal and other WCVC news. Finally, the Council will be asked to approve the existing governance charter for another year (no requested changes were received).

Here is the agenda.
