March 1 Meeting: Thank you to all those who came and participated at the council meeting on March 1. For those of you who missed it, the final meeting agenda and speaker presentations are now posted at: http://venturawatershed.
Council Website: *Maintenance* I will be conducting maintenance and updates to the website (www.venturawatershed.org) in the upcoming month. Please be patient as things might start to look a bit different, disappear, or shifted around a bit. It’ll get fixed. Please always feel free to email me if you need anything from the website and can’t find it! Also an apology to those who could not locate the last meeting’s information – it was an error on my part!
Upcoming events: Below you will find information about: (1) Ventura County General Plan and (2) State Water Interconnection Project, both of which will influence the future of our watershed. As I mentioned during the meeting last week, please participate in your public forums and ask questions!
VENTURA COUNTY GENERAL PLAN – OPEN HOUSES
For schedule and locations, visit:http://vc2040.org/2018/03/05/
The Ventura County Planning Division will host open houses around the county as part of the General Plan Update project. Options for how the county could grow in the future and how the General Plan could address policies related to issues such as climate change, housing, and economic development, will be explored. A summary of public input will be provided to the County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission during their next joint work session. Project information is available at the project website VC2040.org.
STATE WATER INTERCONNECTION PROJECT
City of Ventura recently released a notice of Preparation (NOP) to notify responsible and trustee agencies and the public that the City of San Buenaventura (City of Ventura/City), as the Lead Agency, will prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for implementation of the State Water Interconnection Project. A description of the proposed project can be seen here.
A scoping meeting will be held on March 15, 2018 at 6pm to receive comments regarding the scope and content of the EIR. Location: Ventura City Hall, Council Chambers 501 Poli Street Ventura, CA 93002
Have a great week!
